“It’s never too late to be what you might have been.”
Character: Sensitive, reserved, polite, selfless, shy, worries easily, not particularly intelligent
Original world: Earth (parallel)
Enari was born blind, and has been her entire life. Though she’s never seen the world around her with physical sight, the woman has developed a powerful 6th sense--she can clearly see auras and energy through her mind’s eye.
She was raised in the same run-down neighborhood as Saya and her sister, often standing in place as a mother figure when their own wasn’t around, despite being just a couple years older.
She’d grown up without any real education and did whatever work she could in order to get by. Simple jobs like working at a call center were enough to pay her bills, but it was no where near enough to help the Serizawa when they ran low on food or other necessities--and those girls were like family to Ena.
In order to support all 3 of them, she took up work at a brothel in Dōtonbori (Chinatown); something neither of her friends have ever known about.
One of the men she was with had a disease which transmitted to Enari. She has been getting progressively ill for years ever since, as her immune system is under constant attack.
Enari’s 3rd eye has shown her own life force slipping away...she is well aware she does not have much time left. However, the more ill she becomes on Earth...the more prominent her spirit becomes, and her truest self can shine.
As a spirit, Ena regains her vision, and is no longer ill. Her hair is long and flowing, and her aura is a shimmering white color. It is in that form that she experiences what it means to truly live again, and she uses it as a lens to view the world around her as she sleeps.
Even in that form, however, Enari remains bound to the physical plane, because she is caught between life and death. She cannot travel to other realms, nor can she interact much with people outside of other souls.
+ Ena can sometimes ‘see’ memories or emotions connected to the objects she touches. She uses this to her advantage by working as a medium now and days, and connecting people to messages and loved ones passed. Sadly, she has yet to be able to connect to her best friend, Suzune.
+ After being being introduced to Saya’s new teacher, ‘professor Hajime’ Enari detected a strong, suffocating aura she’d never encountered before. She feels cold darkness around him, and sees a form slightly different from the one people describe...she sees...Yuuma.
The more Enari is around this enigmatic man, the stronger she feels for him. She is in tune to the fact that he carries a lot of grief within his being...and yet, refuses to lash out at the people around him. To her, he is someone to be admired and respected, even though his chilling presence suggests otherwise.
+ Enari isn’t proud of her past, and carries a lot of shame with her. She can often be found at temples or shrines, seeking forgiveness.
+ She’s embarrassed by how confusing more complex kanji can be for her, and how little she’s able to understand things like science and mathematics. She wonders if private lessons with Saya’s teacher would help...but as of yet is too shy to ask him.
+ Though she realizes there is a powerful, loving bond between Akemi and Jin, Enari is still incredibly fond of the girl, as she sees a lot of Suzune in her. She believes those two are soulmates and would never let her own feelings stand in the way of that...except...she can’t always control them.
+ Her voice is her outlet--she often hums or sings when she’s in thought, or by herself. Music in general resonates deeply with the woman, who enjoys gentle melodies and beautiful string pieces.
+ Ena’s character is ill fated--she will eventually die in the story. But once she does, she’ll finally be free of the physical world and will be able to travel to Astralia and other realms with Saya and Akemi. Thus, she’ll never really be gone. ♡

Voice Sample: Ohara Sayaka [Her voice is a little higher than this but it’s the best I could find. ^^;;;]
Main theme: Fairyland [The dreamy, gentle tone behind this struck me as Enari right away~ The lyrics represent her feelings on Astralia, and every world beyond our own, as they struggle against shadows. She’d do anything to save them.]
