From egg to emu!
This past winter, I purchased 4 emu eggs and incubated them in my home. The eggs are amazing, they are about 12 times the size of a chicken egg and take almost two months to hatch. A few weeks before hatching the eggs start to βwiggleβ, a few days before hatching the chicks start to peep and call back to you when you talk to them. The baby emus hatch out at about a pound and are immediately able to walk and feed themselves!
You can keep up with my (near daily) emu pictures and watch them grow on my Twitter! https://twitter.com/foxfeather
