Curiosity killed the cat, or something. Ephrik wasn’t really sure, but she knew there wouldn’t be anything to bring the poor animal back - the animal in question being herself. She probably shouldn’t have went so deep into the Hive territory...

The rifle was good enough only against one or two enemies, not a swarm of Thralls and Acolytes, so Ephrik chose to run instead. The tunnels were dark and long, but at last she could see the light of day again -

24. How do you feel about tears? Are they cowardly and weak? Do you cry? Would you consider that shameful?

"Tears are not weak, nor cowardly. Everyone sheds them from time to time, but... I have no need to cry. I have no need to grieve. What would a god of death have to grieve?"

33. If you could wipe certain memories from your head, would you? Why would you? What memories?

🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?

To break this into bits and pieces:

He doesn't trust very easily. The multiverse has proven to him several times over that it is cold and cruel and people will do ANYTHING to get ahead. The only people he trusts are the people in the castle town, the people who have made a deal - finished their deals - and then chosen to stay by his side, knowing that he's not as bad as he seems. A small group, but a group he adores and trusts nonetheless. Also, without question, he implicitly trusts Delun. Whatever the lord says, goes.

Quinn, deal wise, won't turn his back on someone. However, if it's someone from his past who has already shown that they would betray him quicker than he would them, then he wouldn't hesitate throwing them under the bus without remorse. Otherwise, most people are quite safe with him.

If given an ultimatum... it would depend on the ultimatum? If the ultimatum is anything to do with Delun, then he'd always choose Delun. If it's anything to do with people in the castle town, then he'd choose the castle town. If he had the chance to see his family again, he'd go with that. But otherwise? It'd have to be something he REALLY wants to betray someone. Because 'betrayal' comes from a place of love and trust.

He mostly loves spending time with people!

As someone who has eternity (roughly, the confidence of believing he can't be killed is there), knowing that someone who doesn't have eternity is willing to spend real time with him makes him feel comfortable around them! So while he seems to be someone who prefers acts of service or gifts as his love language, it's really not, lol.

57. How do you cope with being betrayed?

      “Revenge. Of course, the severity really is context dependent, but know I do not take to it lightly when it is done with ill intentions—one will pay for it in some form or another.” They do not abide by the morality of not seeking revenge, it’s their city now if you fuck with them.

74. What is the worst way someone’s ever abandoned you?

      “... I would say my death, since that truly felt like abandonment from both people and friends, but I’ve come to close the chapter on that knowing that people did look for me. I don’t think ... the passing of people naturally can count either, since I have also come to terms that people will leave in some form or another, either through their choice or the cycle of life.”
