@empireblade sent : Such a familiar face and still so different from what he was used to. Having settled into her new body, Xal'atath climbed into his lap, as she tended to do whenever no soul would disturb their private time. Long dark hair fell over her shoulders; hair which once had been silvery blonde. " I like this new body, you know, Clive " she said and brushed her pallid fingers against his skin. " It has been so long since I enjoyed the benefits of a vessel. How do you like it? " From the likeness of Jill, naught seemed had to remain, save for her very face.
To call his mental state 'in turmoil' would be an understatement. He had just watched Jill fall in battle, struck down while he was forced to retreat and leave her body behind. The grief that he had felt in that moment was almost enough to sunder him, barely able to function as he sunk into the chair in the Solar. It felt as if his heart was being rent in two, as if he had lost a major piece of himself. When Xal'atath appeared within the room, he didn't even lift his head, not acknowledging her presence like he normally would. It wasn't until she slid into his lap that he noticed her, and noticed she wasn't her usual self.
"Jill?" His entire body froze, looking right into Jill's face as she settled into his lap, though...it wasn't Jill. Her hair was dark, skin pallid and gray. Her eyes were the void pits that Xal'atath normally sported. The touch of cold fingers against his cheek just made his heart seize, his entire body tense as the woman spoke with Xal'atath's voice and Jill's face. How she liked this new body, how it had so long since she had a form like this. And she had the gall to ask how he liked it. "N-No..." He could feel himself shaking, teeth gritting as his eyes remained fixated on Xal'atath, on Jill's face. "What have you done...?" Tears poured down his cheeks now, staring in horror as she puppeted the body of Jill Warrick, his dearest and closest friend.
