la knight had come to the conclusion that roman reigns probably didn't like him very much. which, honestly, was a little surprising. knight figured they had plenty in common. they were both confident. both handsome. both carried themselves like they owned whatever room they walked into. the only real difference was that roman apparently expected people to shut up when he walked into a room. la knight had never developed that particular skill. so here he was, standing across from the tribal chief with a grin that was becoming increasingly difficult to wipe off his face. β roman, i gotta be honest with you. i've been thinkin' about what happened on raw, and i think there's been a little misunderstanding here. β he paused, glancing around as if he genuinely expected somebody to come rushing in and correct him. β see, when i challenged you for that championship, i wasn't askin'. i wasn't suggestin'. i wasn't puttin' out feelers. i wasn't sendin' you a strongly worded email with a little calendar invite attached. β his grin widened. β i was tellin' you. β there was something deeply satisfying about watching @chvmpiionsx's expression change. knight had seen that look before. it was the look of a man trying very hard to decide whether punching him in the mouth would be worth the inevitable consequences. and, frankly, knight respected the restraint. β now, i know you've probably gotten used to people walkin' into your locker room, lookin' at you, seein' that championship, and suddenly rememberin' they got somewhere else to be. β he nodded thoughtfully. β probably saves you a lotta conversations. β knight shifted his weight, studying roman for another moment. β but here's where things get unfortunate for you. i'm apparently an idiot. β he shrugged. β not clinically, mind you. just enough to make questionable decisions on television. β
a laugh slipped from him before he could stop it. β because instead of lookin' at roman reigns and thinkin', 'well, that's a terrible idea,' i looked at roman reigns and thought, 'yeah, i could take that title.' β he pointed toward the championship. β and now i've got a problem. β a beat. β well, you've got a problem. i'm havin' a great time. β knight's smile turned downright smug. β so you can glare at me all you want. you can stand there and look all intimidating. you can do that whole roman reigns thing where you stare at somebody for twenty seconds like you're waitin' for their ancestors to apologize. β he shook his head, amused. β it ain't gonna work on me. β he took a small step closer. β because the way i see it, you've got exactly two choices. you can keep that championship and eventually deal with meβ¦or you can keep that championship and definitely deal with me. that's a pretty tough decision, ain't it? β he chuckled under his breath, clearly pleased with himself. β either way, roman, you're gonna hear me. you're gonna see me. and sooner or later, you're gonna have to fight me. and when that happens, i'm gonna do what i came here to do. i'm gonna take that championship. and then i'm probably gonna talk about it so much that you're gonna wish you had just given it to me. β
