Forgive and Forget
It’s a sentiment Richard hates, and quite rightly so, he’s always been taught to forgive and forget- and he did. He’s forgiven and he’s forgiven and he’s forgiven some more, and he’s chosen to forget, time and time again, and ‘it’s fine, no, really, don’t worry about it’ has become a part of his natural dialogue.
A lot of the time its Jim, he won’t deny, and with Jim it’s not reassuring the other person it’s alright, forgiving is taking part in Jims next plan, and forgetting is simply asking Jim ‘what is it you need this time?’.
But Jim left for two years, and then swanned back into his life like no time had passed at all.
And this time there is no forgiving.And this time there is no forgetting.
