PROUD DAY FOR ME 🎉 6 years ago, Taylor and I were at the grocery store getting ready to check out and she said mom aren't you forgetting something? I said no I think we have everything she said you forgot to get your beer! That was it July 1, 2013 I quit cold turkey 💪 When I was in high school I used to drink pretty much every day! I could outdrink the guys. Back then I thought it was something to be proud of. When I started dating my ex husband, he did not like me drinking so I quit pretty much for over 23 years. Once we separated the drinking begin again because I was angry, sad, lost, and scared. #emotionaldrinking When I was having a bad day or crying, my kids would ask me, mom should I get you a beer? That started to sink in my head, what kind of role model was I being for my children? My grandmother died at the age of 61 years old from cirrhosis of the liver because she drank every single day until she passed away, that also started to sink into my head! So I finally decided enough is enough it's time to grow up and become someone my kids could look up to and be proud of! Remember your children are like sponges and they watch EVERYTHING that you do so if you are smoking, drinking, doing things you shouldn't be doing, don't get upset when your children follow in your footsteps. Lead by example Turning to health and fitness was the best decision I could have made for me and my kids! Now when I am having a bad day my kids say mom do you want a shake or please go workout! Yes I am proud of myself! So now you know why I won't drink when I am out with you. Addiction runs in our family and I'd rather be addicted to working out and good health. Can you look in the mirror and be proud of who you are right now? There is no way I would be able to take care of Taylor and be her advocate if I was still drinking! You are in control of your own life ❤ https://www.instagram.com/p/BzZpH4EBRiW/?igshid=1lsv0g9vsj7am
