Looking back, I feel like Lucy shows her love language through cooking. She sent Tim food when he was injured (choosing to believe she cooked), we see her cooking a personal dish for her mom and then weâve seen Lucy cooking for Tamara as well. Itâs how she expresses her love and takes care of her people I think. Thoughts? Do you have headcannons about Lucy cooking for Tim?!
A while back I touched a little on this topic, and Iâm here to add some more!
I think Tim can follow a recipe, he likes order and clear directions, so heâs a guy who can bake - cakes, pastry, you name it, if he can find a good recipe he can make it.
He is also a great grill master.
After Isobel left, Tim got bored with cooking, he loves good food and good flavours, and he still ate at places he liked, but it just wasnât fun to cook anymore - that old, study, workout, eat⊠he was down to boring chicken breast, boiled broccoli and quinoa for the protein
Lucy brought the light back into his life, and so brought the spice back into his kitchen
She loves cooking, because itâs a little bit of improvisation - adding in more saffron here, sesame oil there, or mixing in different ingredients
One of her favourite things to do is find a dish that a person likes, and then perfect it
She did this with Jackson and his obsession with spanakopita
Tamara and Mac and Cheese
It takes longer with Tim, because he canât give her a straight answer on what his favourite dish is, but Lucy is persistent.
She makes Tim Italian wedding soup
Homemade ravioli that would bring a stronger man to his knees, and Tim is appreciative for all of them, he is! But, Lucy knows theyâre not his favourite.
She branches out and tries apple pie, which is still good, but not life changing.
Lucy tries brisket and roasted veggies - Tim likes them, but sheâs looking for something more in his reaction
Finally, she nails it on Thanksgiving with a whole Turkey spread - sweet potatoes casserole, roasted Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce, and a brined Turkey.
Tim tells her that night about his best childhood memory, thanksgiving with his grandparents, and Lucy knows she nailed the perfect meal for him.
Turkey is too much for everyday, but Lucy keeps it in her back pocket for celebrations and to mark important dates.
