I've been playing the violin for about 4 years. Lately I feel like starting a new instrument. Something like the trombone or the trumpet or something like that. Not sure yet. Every time I tell my friends about starting the trombone or trumpet they start laughing at me. They tell me things like "play an instrument for girls like the flute. Trumpets and trombones are boy instruments." I just want to know why they say this stuff. Are instruments really so gender oriented?
Because they’re obnoxious, sexist, ignorant asshats. Instruments are not gender oriented at all. I know men and women who play flute, clarinet, violin, voice, as well as trumpet, trombone, tuba etc. The only people who care about a girl or boy playing a certain instrument are the ones who are jealous that they cant play anything and you don’t need that kind of negativity in you life dear.
