Saw a fic pairing Johnny with Gil Robinson and got curious where that came from, so I rewatched “Transition” (s4 ep15) and yeah, I see it. I can totally imagine Johnny being head over heels for Gil when they were in high school.
He seems surprised when Gil doesn’t immediately remember him (because he never forgot Gil? mayyybe)
Then, when Gil finally places who Johnny is, Roy does the cutest little nod and grin like “Yay! You remember him!”
When Gil freezes up in the ER and gets scolded by both Dr. Morton and Dr. Brackett, Johnny looks so disappointed that his former idol isn’t living up to his high school glory.
And then— what’s this? Maybe Johnny’s crush wasn’t one-sided?
Rawr!
But don’t worry, Johnny hasn’t forgotten about Roy. When Dr. Early is examining Roy’s eyes after the snake spit at him, Johnny is right up in his business to “help”.
And even though Johnny and Roy are discussing Gil, they have a really intense moment of giving each other bedroom eyes. (Which I absolutely love.)

I love how the order of squads on the board at Rampart is completely nonsensical so that 51 can be on the top.
It's kind of weird that the day I finalize my brief tribute post on Randy, that it's Kevin's bday.

Day 13: Mud
Roy didn't drink often. Usually these evenings spent in his garage on folding lawn chairs were accompanied with potato chips and soda.
But Roy was in a mood. Had been since they handed off a patient to Rampart the other afternoon. A veteran who was caught in a flashback he couldn't escape from. Johnny was pretty sure there was something bubbling, boiling under the surface, scrambling to get out if Roy would only give it a chance.
But he seemed more content to try to drown it.
