Her flowers were growing so wonderfully here and they looked so very lovely alongside the architecture. From what she had gathered this was Jotaroâs hometown and that was a fact that caused much concern. Territorial advantage was not to be underestimated, she had nearly been killed plenty of times because Barnabas had been careless in the past. Still, they had worn themselves ragged in attempt to get there before anyone else. Barnabas was always eager to prove that he was the best of the best.
Jochebed was inclined to disagree, not that she would be so bold as to voice that opinion.
Instead she focused on forming such a lovely garden. Her children were spreading, their pretty pink petals catching the attention of those that paid attention. No one questioned how they got there so fast, nor did they keep an eye on the lone foreigner that seemed to disappear so effortlessly.
Except for him. This one was different, Jochebed could sense that something was not quite right beneath the surface. Staring him down, she placed her hand against the gate as she mentally mapped out where she was in relationship to Barnabas. Taking in a deep breath, she coaxed more of her children to take root. Removing her hand she revealed a cluster of flowers that had not been there before. She turned her back to him and started walking away, if he followed she would know.
