Idk know but I feel like you’re the right person to ask: do you think Michael Afton knows about Mormon Bigfoot this has haunted me for months
so i think it kind of depends on whether you interpret the aftons themselves as mormons, i personally don't and believe that william's moving to hurricane was influenced by his partnership with henry rather than his own religion. that said, i DO buy him finding out about it either from henry or from being a very active member of hurricane's social scene, and based on his dialogue in SL's opening i think he is the type of person to kind of monologue in a flowery way, possibly including allusions or references to stuff. the specific instance where i see it coming up is after the bite of '83 wherein i can see william berating michael by making a comparison to cain and abel either as a threat or just to compare his own pain to that of god's when cain decided to kill abel out of jealousy and cursed him to walk the earth, as Mormon Bigfoot.
either that or one of his friends told him. statistically no matter your take on michael's friends, 92.5% of washington county is mormon, so one of their relatives genuinely believing in Mormon Bigfoot is both likely and likely to come up in conversation, because it is funny as fuck
