To be frank, her birthday sucked. Arguing with one of the most important people in her life rather than celebrating was something she would never wish on anyone. It was just a sad and lonely day, but nearly a week— six days to be exact— had already gone by. Malia had managed to pull herself together for the sake of her younger cousin, but returning home to a high tensioned household was not something she could simply ignore. She needed some fresh air, to clear her head. “I’m going for a walk.” The girl murmured to her mother as she headed out through the shop’s front door.

Greeted by a gust of wind, Malia hugged her coat around herself tightly before wandering aimlessly around the village. It seemed as if the warmth of Christmas still lingered as many faces around her seemed to glow with happiness in the comfort of their loved ones. Malia looked towards them fondly, a small smile creeping up on her lips before her eyes drifted towards a familiar face. “Jaein?” The girl called out his name before she’d even realized her feet were carrying herself towards him.
