Left. Right. Left. Right. Leaving some distance between Ember and himself, Bartholomew rotated the blade in his hand, looking around and thinking. He was looking ahead, but he wasn't focused on the Feast. He was still thinking about the last cannon he'd heard. It'd brought on so many questions: Who died? More importantly, who killed them? Should I be worried? What killed them? How many tributes are left? Was that Celeste's cannon? No. She's too smart, too skilled, to die so soon. His thoughts were interrupted when he could feel the difference between walking down the steps of the escalator, and the cold, hard, surface of the second floor. He took a few more steps before he turned towards the direction of the Cornucopia and stopped. Glancing back at Ember, his facial expression was serious. He turned his head back around and started to make his way towards the Cornucopia. He rotated the blade once more, gripping the hilt with his hand, as he started to walk faster. He was coming back to Celeste, but not without a fight. Just as he turning the corner, he heard a loud buzzing sound. His left hand grabbed the corner, and he pulled himself back. He tried to hide the best he could. He raised his free hand to cover his left ear, despite the noise already ending.
His sword and hand lowered, as his eyes watched in anticipation. A large area of the floor opened up in front of the Cornucopia. A huge stone table rose from the ground. Food, weapons, and survival gear sitting on the top of it. But the most interesting items on the stone table, were in the center. Five backpacks that all looked the same. Those interested Bartholomew the most. He couldn't help but want to know what was inside. But did he really need it? Not like the rest of the tributes. The last time he went after something he wanted, he ended up with a gash down his arm. Focus Bart. Kill Celeste first. The backpack won't matter if you can't kill her first. And it was true. While some of the tributes may have come for supplies, he came for a fight. He planned on killing Celeste, and if any tribute got in the way of that, he wouldn't think twice about killing them. He glanced back at Ember, shaking his head once, left to right. He wanted to say he saw no tributes, but that was all he could give away in that position. Turning back around, he decided he wouldn't look back, anymore. He didn't want to give away her own position.
His eyes roamed the space before him, still thinking about it. Celeste...Celeste! Damn it, where is she? And where- he stopped when his eyes fell on the top of the Cornucopia. He could see a pile of what looked like items that he'd remembered, before he left. He smiled to himself. Like I said, biggest threat. Greatest enemy. My best friend, Celeste. Was she hiding up there with them? Or gone? She wouldn't be dumb enough to leave all that stuff there. She's up there, I just gotta bring her down. But how? He wasn't sure how, other than throwing himself out there into the chaos. Another tribute might see him and decide to attack him. Fair enough. He was just going to try to defend himself and attack to kill, anyway. Plus, Ember had his back on this one. He'd trust she'd take down anyone who came in too fast towards him. Surprised him. So, he readied himself and started to run towards the Cornucopia. Out in the open. Some tribute would have to come out. Maybe even Celeste shoots an arrow at him, and either he or Ember, can catch where she's lying. Either way, Bart had to make something happen, and he was strong enough to handle it. So he ran.
