Really excited about this four track find. I’ve been archiving a mountain of old tapes from fifteen years ago and this is one of my favorite recordings that I’ve come across. It’s an alternate take of a song from my first album. It gets pretty crazy on the album with drum machines and theremins. This is just a couple of organ parts recorded at some point in 2003 in Oklahoma.

Time to bring back the tumblr? Here’s an unlisted video that went out to my patreon crew the other day. It’s just a video of a cassette that I recently found in my basement. It includes myself, my wife and the band Meteorade playing some songs in their kitchen back in 2009. 

A batch of leftover/alternate takes from Ghosts on Television/Suburban Lightfoot recordings. Put to digital tape periodically from September 2011-July 2013 Some of the tunes are buried in blog posts from a couple of years ago. Here they are all together in one spot for the first time.

For some reason it took a while to remember, but definitely resurrecting this tune. Figuring it out on piano for the fun of it.

While transferring old files from my computer to a hard drive I stumbled upon a set of videos taken at a house show in 2009.  A few things to note.  *This was the first time Connie and I hosted a house show at The House That Willi Built.  *This has been the only time I've ever played a ukulele in front of people. *We were joined off camera by Alec Schumacher on banjo.  *I didn't have a beard and I was rockin' some "dad mullet" hair (Connie's words).

I recently found these nine songs stowed away on a hard drive in the basement. The set was recorded in November of 2007 with the intention of making Christmas presents for friends and family. For one reason or another I shelved the project and moved on. All the songs are just me, on acoustic guitar and minimal hand percussion overdubbed. All recorded in a single afternoon/evening straight into garageband on a powerbook through the built-in microphone. It’s pseudo lo-fi, there’s definitely a drier going in the background of a few songs. Some of the songs ended up on Sunburned Skeptics, some on Ghosts on Television and there’s a few that haven’t surfaced yet.
