I couldn’t have mine that long because if I don’t keep them relatively short I start fiddling with them and breaking them. They are definitely longer than I usually see on people who don’t paint their nails but hey up to you :).

I have incredibly strong nails apparently so they don’t break unless I really mistreat them (like catching them on the craft knife I use at work). I very rarely paint my nails because nail polish makes my fingers too heavy :/ This is I think nine weeks of growth from cut to completely blunt (I was doing a test to see how fast they’d grow so I knew how long they’d get while I was in England) and this is about three weeks past ‘I should cut my nails’ length.

Can you still type easily? Do they get caught on things and cause pain? If not, they’re fine.

Nail length has never been an issue for me typing. I am currently using my ring finger nails to type more than my fingertips though because the angle is easier (I have lucked into very strong nails so I can do that without them bending or breaking). They don’t catch on stuff unless they’re scuffed somehow and then I just file the rough bit smooth rather than cut them. No pain, not even really annoying.
