The month of December is approaching extremely quickly, and will be arriving in less than two days in the small town of Ellingham! And as it is my favourite month of the winter, I thought that it would be nice to start said month off with a bang! I’m not going to set an event at the beginning of the month, as we’ll have a bigger one closer to the “official” holiday celebrations of Ellingham, but! I thought it’d be fun to do a little partnering up mini-event to begin the month! The last one I tried to make pretty much failed, and so this time around, I tried to make the little form you had to fill a bit more thorough! It still shouldn’t take you too long, but it’s going to make things a bit easier for me to organize things in a much better manner. As always, this partnering up mini-event is completely optional, and to participate, all you have to do is fill out the lil form right here before December 1st, 2019 @ 00:01 EST! The third weekend of November is always a busy one in Ellingham. First founded in the early 1900s, the town has more than a few traditions, and this is one of them. On the Friday night preceding the third weekend of November, the town holds a town meeting that’s mostly attended by Ellingham’s home owners and renters, and which is an opportunity to discuss all things related to the town and its various neighbourhoods. That’s the official tradition; the one started by the original residents of the town. This year, it’s being hosted by both the mayor and Quest Pryor, one of Ellingham’s most involved citizens. Whether or not you enjoy town business, the annual town meeting is not something to be missed, for every year, something interesting always ends up happening...
However, that’s not all that happens on that night of the year. Indeed, though no one is sure when it started, during every yearly town meeting, there is a huge winter bash happening in the woods close to town, mostly attended by young adults. Those under 18 are not allowed to attend and have never been, whereas those over twenty-five might end up feeling highly unwelcome if they do decide to happen. Basically, it’s a place for the young adults of Ellingham to go wild, without any older adult supervision, and they always end up taking advantage of that.Â
This year, the annual town meeting and winter bash end up falling on November 16th. The town meeting is hosted by the mayor, as always, whereas the Winter Bash is hosted by a new young adult this year: Jeremy Atkinson. Jeremy was known to throw quite good parties in high school when his family was out of town, and therefore, after Mina McLaggen stepped down as organizer after turning twenty-four, it was decided that Jeremy would be the one in charge this year. He has the money, no fear of consequences, and a flair for the dramatic, which is why everyone this year expects the bash to be quite interesting. Plus, he has Teddy Torres’ and Noelle Laurent’s help when it comes to the organization and running of the party, which might help keep things a bit more under control than if he were the only one in charge...
Important things to know...
This event will last for a week, starting on opening and ending on November 19, 2019! However, the event ending will not mean that you have to drop your threads related to the event.
The official timestamp during the event is November 12 to November 19, 2019, but you can set your threads at any time during that period, and therefore don’t need to follow the actual days of the week. By that, I mean that just because it might be November 13 in real life, you can still start a thread that happens on November 15, the night of the town meeting and the party. All I ask is that none of your threads be set after November 19.
You can write flashback threads during the event, but I’d like for at least three out of four of your threads to be set during the event!
Please make sure to write where it’s happening, when it’s happening and with whether or not your starter is an open one in your starters! When and where don’t have to be too specific; it’s just to give everyone a better idea! Also, make sure to tag all your starters with #ellingham:starter & #ellingham:event01 !

Oyez, oyez! (Yes, I’m going to use this phrase as often as possible.) I know I’m a tiny bit late, but I’ve finally finished arranging the pairs + prompts for December’s mini pairing up event! Basically, how this works is that all the characters who were entered in the google form were paired up (in every pair, one is meant to write the starter, and you’ll see that mentioned in the list) and then given a little prompt! The rules for it are quite simple, really! All you have to do is, if you’re meant to write the starter, to try and have it up before December 18. You can message the person you’re paired up with beforehand to plot a little, but it’s not obligatory! Then, the other person will reply to your starter, and ta-da! New thread started! As far as prompts go, some are more detailed than others, but I recommend playing around with them to try and make them work for you. You can follow them completely, of course, but I don’t want you to feel forced to do that, you know? So, yes!

This is our first mini event within a bigger event! The goal of these mini events is basically to make our characters interact with characters we may not have, usually! This time around, the mini-event within the current event is taking place in between November 16th at 08:00 and November 17th at 08:00, aka the day after the Winter Bash and the big Town Meeting! Under the cut, you’ll find the pairings that have been determined by a random organizer website! Of course, those threads can happen any time within ou real, real life, time, but within the roleplay, that’s when those threads would take place!I tried to include all the characters that were asked for, but if you can’t find your chara in there, either because you changed your mind or just arrived, please DM the main and I’ll find a solution!
