studynostalgic’s #nostalgicautumn challenge: day 5
for the month of october, i’ll be doing @studynostalgic ’s #nostalgicautumn challenge! unfortunately, i skipped day 4 because i don’t own any candles and i couldn’t buy one. :( but i’m back for day 5!
day 5: write a short love letter to yourself and put it into your jacket pocket to be your lucky charm. if it’s not too personal, post it on here to. otherwise just recap how it was writing to yourself: was it easy or did you struggle a bit?
i wrote my love letter in my journal, and it’s kind of personal so i won’t post it in detail, but i’ll tell you about what i wrote. I've recently been trying to get into journalling again, a habit that I had when I was younger and lost when I reached high school due to lack of time. It used to make me feel good when I was younger but I felt ashamed of talking about how I liked writing or journalling in general because I felt like it was something too personal to talk about. But now, I want to talk about it as a healthy habit that really helps me with my mental health and how it makes me feel better as a person.
Most of what I've been reflecting on recently is about future plans and what I could do or what could happen after college. Right now, I'm actually really proud of myself for everything I've done or achieved so far with my life, and I'm actually really glad I've reached a good mental state wherein I feel motivated and productive but don't beat myself up when I don't reach something as of the moment. I've reached a point where I'm genuinely pleased at myself, which is something I thought I wouldn't achieve three years ago, when my mental health was at its worse state.
I feel like for the first time in my life, I'm genuinely experiencing self-love and self-care, and I really hope it's something I continue to maintain.
anyway that’s all for today, this was a lot more emotional than i expected HAHAHA i’ll hopefully be back for the rest of the challenge!
