This striking red costume was first worn by Gregor Truter as James Hemmings (who is in turn portraying the character Tybalt on stage) in the 1998 film πΊππππππππππ π°π π³πππ. During the second semester of my junior year at college, I chose to do some visual development for one of my favorite childhood books: Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine! This is by far the most fun Iβve had on a project that I can remember. So without further ado, here are my character designs for Ella, Maddy, and Haddie, along with some color keys for a crucial scene in the book!

"Green isn't a mourning color." This is a sort of side illustration for Ella Enchanted I did while I was working on my visual development for the story--I wanted something that looked like it could also be an illustration in the book itself, as well as to practice working in black and white.
