Autumn had come early that year to Johto, and the tall, mysterious Psychic Elite Lucian walked through Ecruteak City with a very collected look on his face. The heels of his black shoes clicked across the ground as he used watchful eyes and well-developed senses to notice every aspect of the environment that surrounded him.
A cool breeze blew by, taking with it a plethora of orange and red leaves, and bringing the October weather even more to life. Lucian grinned, watching as both the leaves and dust picked up by the wind made their way quickly past his polished dress shoes. With his hands in his pockets, he continued his journey, eventually finding himself staring up at one of the towers the town was most noted for. Even more lovely than he’d imagined, Bell Tower’s multiple roofs drew his eyes upwards and upwards until he was finally looking into the gray sky above. Something about the whole scene was so simple, and yet...
It was sudden, the feeling that came instantly into his mind, and it felt like a parasite digging its way into his very skull. Lucian growled to himself and looked around, his eyes narrowing in his search for what, or...whom, rather, was causing the feeling. It didn’t take long to spot the other, oh no. The fact that his face was partially covered under a black mask did nothing to conceal what was quite obvious to Lucian: this man was a Psychic, and he was attempting to push his way into the mind of the Sinnoh Elite. Lucian chuckled to himself and turned towards the other, who was quite some ways away. With a snap of his fingers, the man with glasses completely blocked his mind, mentally forcing the other away from his thoughts. He grinned, and began to take slow, deliberate steps towards the other.
“Well, well, well,” Lucian began, a both sarcastic and delighted smirk growing on his face, “What have we here?” He stared into the other’s mask, a bit frustrated at being unable to see the eyes behind it, and instead began to telepathically check for any sign of fear. Apparently, this character had blocked his own thoughts as well...not that this could deter Lucian from trying and, most likely, succeeding. Still, he wasn’t going to be as blatantly rude as his new “friend” standing before him. In fact, Lucian was all about cordialities, and he held out a hand to the other.
“My name is Lucian Lagueux,” he began with a voice as smooth as silk, “and we obviously have something in common~. Is this how you typically great new acquaintances? By delving into their most private thoughts before giving a proper ‘hello’”?
Lucian grinned, showing off pearly white teeth, and noting a faint rosy tint on the cheeks of the Psychic before him. “You know, I was quite enjoying the scenery and history of this town, but something about you intrigues me a bit more~. So, friend, what is your name?”
