"I hate Christmas."

"Look what I found on our doorstep." Eli carried in the lazy fat orange cat he had just found curled up against a dumpster in an alley behind the hotel. "I thought that maybe we could them 'em in."

"Caroline!?" Eli made his way through the dark woods, trying not to walk into a tree or trip over a branch. Before, he'd cast a tracker spell and find her within minutes. Now he had to trust his eyes and ears, which wasn't going all too well. Being human sucked, especially when your girlfriend was a vampire. "You know I hate it when you do this."

"I did it - I actually fucking did it." Eli's voice was just a soft whisper, filled with disbelief and pain. "He's back. Rhys is alive." It'd cost him more than he'd been willing to pay but his brother was alive. That was all he needed. The wounds, the blood and the absence of his powers were all just details.

"Who stole my whiskey?"

"I hear it's Sexual Sunday again."

"I'm officially a co-host of the Annual Englishmen Masquerade Ball. Which means new suit. Does this shirt look good or should I go for the dark blue one?"
