Guess who learned today that 100 grams of meat doesn't equal 100 grams of protein. I hadn't really thought about it in detail but it suddenly became very obvious now that I'm tracking my eating and constantly not enough protein.
For example, chicken breast which is pretty dense in protein, is 30-31 grams of protein per 100 gram. Compared to beef (20-26 gr) or tofu (8-15 gr) or beans (6-9 gr).
So as I should eat ca 80 gr of protein per day based on body, age and hormones, it's become very clear why I wasn't reaching my levels.
(don't get me started on how my fucking body changes due to premenopause, I'd like to evict my uterus yesterday)
I'm back in the gym twice a week and it's only been 3 times so far and boy am I hurting. And I'm even being smart about it and not just going full-tilt and injuring myself. Every weight needs to be less or none π. I was doing single leg squat which I used to do with a 10 kg bag over my shoulders, I could barely do them without any weight. I know my hip problems this fall has made me lose stability but I didn't know it was quite this obvious. And it takes forever to get back when you're 50 yo.
But hey, I'm going so I know my brain will feel better too, and I'll be less achy in my joints.
