Elijah Greystoke | The Mortal Instruments Verse
His father Michael, was raised a Shadowhunter by his uncle Edward, after Harold Greystoke (Elijah's grandfather) disowned him.Â
Elijah has accepted that this is what he was born to do, though he always makes sure to give the enemy one chance to surrender. This practice is hated by Michael, and they father son pair came under a lot of stress due to it.Â
Elijah has no clue about who his Mother is, no pictures, no stories from his father, she is just non-existent it seems. This both bugs Elijah and drives him to keep fighting. He has it in his head it was demons that took his mother from him, though he fears she might have even become something else, something he might have to hunt one day.Â
Elijah is very troubled due to his patchwork of an upbringing. His father never answered any questions, nor was he particularly loving of Elijah. Edward is the closest thing to a good relationship, that Eli has, but they lost touch after Edward moved to Northern Europe.Â
Elijah is adamant there is something evil about himself, that he has a sinister side because he sometimes wants to kill his father or people around him.Â
NOTE: I haven't finished the book series, I don't know everything about the lore of TMI so I won't be using this verse for a while :) I'm just putting it out there.
