I saw ahead into later chapter's walkthroughs and I MIGHT HAVE TO PUT HIM DOWN?! Bro why can't I just keep people around 😭 First my sister died, and Unexpected Heiress ALSO had my sister die (which I am playing through right now so they feel contemporous to me). I admit, I like hard choices and that will definitely be one, because it challenges the principles I have set out since the start of the game. I put down Angel's parents and people are predicting that your sister will come back as a zombie at some point, but those are not "hard choices" for me. That will simply not be my sister anymore, I did my grieving the chapter she died. Angel should have done so too, but she didn't, and keeping her parents around would only result in an innocent death later (because that is totally what the consequence would have been/will be, it's like as obvious as the sky above lmao).

But my sister wanted to be put down, Cassidy wanted to be put down. I didn't want to put down either of them. I actually didn't get the choice to! I would have been willing to drag my sister out of that house as slow as fuck as we would have been, hell or high water. Cassidy is a little different, there was no hope for her because she'd already been bitten, so I let her go out on her terms (bought the diamond grenade option).

Luckily it looks like he comes back either way, so the choice seems null, but that is only if "hard choices" are as toothless if they have been: I'm still waiting on Angel to betray me or have a mindbreak for putting down her parents, I am still waiting for Shannon to mindbreak from her experience in the cabinet both of which I consider objectively correct decisions and wouldn't change for either of those consequences. I am simply waiting for the consequences to have teeth. If Eli dumps you for choosing to kill him after a zombie scare he'd be somewhat justified, but a hypocrite. Depending on how it's handled, it could kill my interest in him entirely. So far he's been the only level-headed one, my undisputed number 2. I think the thoughts and then they come out of his mouth, that's how much I gel with this character. And him getting mad at you putting him down on purpose would be. Um. Really ruinous to say the least. I hope that's not the route they take.

Instead I hope he gets mad at your choice to spare him, which would be much more in line with his character so far. If the hard choice doesn't actually result in his death then I do not care, I'll choose to put him down on my principles alone lmao, and the future chapter walkthroughs imply it doesn't result in his death. Soooooo.

Like I think he last time Pixelberry killed off a Love Interest was in Blood Bound? And you had to explicitly not be dating either of the people that get killed off or the other would get killed off instead. Other than that it's probably the It Lives series, and it's pretty hard to let them die because choosing romance options tends to give them more nerve. But they can die so it's something. Wake the Dead COULD be one of those games, but they haven't done it in so long that it's pretty unlikely. It is, in the very least, an interesting dilemma to have, which I haven't had much of from PB in a long time.
