Paul Tanner "Music For Heavenly Bodies" LP. you can't really tell from this picture, but the vinyl is blue. There's not as much Electro-Theremin on this as I'd like. It is still fun easy listening from the space age. God bless modern Harmonic for reissuing stuff like this (and that Astro Sounds LP I played a few days ago)! #PaulTanner #MusicForHeavenlyBodies #ElectroTheremin #SpaceAge #EasyListening #ModernHarmonic
Electrotheremin - Bob Whitsell, 1958. Played by Paul Tanner.
This is the electrotheremin. This is not a theremin, it only produces a sound similar to the theremin. It is played by tweaking knobs and sliding along a keyboard diagram. Contrary to popular belief, the Beach Boys song ‘Good Vibrations’ features an electrotheremin, not a theremin. For live performances, the Beach Boys used a custom made Moog ribbon controller.
