If you were to be enlightened or provided proof to the reason of life, would you want it? If you could be gifted with a genius' intellect, would you accept it? No one would want to hear the answers that you'd provide. The ignorant would become combative and a battle with ignorance can't be won. The foolish would see you as condescending once hearing a few words they don't know the meaning of, or a concept that isn't at a pre-school level. Did you know that nearly every elective lobotomy carried out was on a famous author? Intelligence coupled with observation of society is a very scary thing.
