Sometimes it helps to learn about the past so you won’t repeat it. What have the Grey Faces been saying? I know they’ve made my life a living hell at times, but sometimes they can also be extremely helpful.

Ivan made a little haste to catch up with Feykir, reaching a hand out and letting it drop, knowing that touching people on the shoulder can sometimes lead to more harm than simple greeting.

Annika hadn’t realized how long she had been sitting on the stairs. She had come out when he would normally come home, and stayed, waiting, unable to convince herself to go back into the apartment. People had come and gone, and yet still she had sat, waiting for the impossible. She had known that time was passing, known that she needed to get up and go back inside her apartment. It wasn’t until she heard the footsteps on the stairs and saw the faint glow peeking around corners here and there that she realized that she had been awake all night.
