This is the only picture I got around to taking at the ELCA National Youth Gathering in Houston, TX. 30,000 or so folks at the NRG Stadium.

Drumroll................we are a book fair!!!!! We are BEYOND excited...not because we’re in air conditioning today BUT bc we are giving books to students that don’t have resources in their schools or homes. The books are also specifically from diverse authors! All the students are so excited to interact with the kids and bring joy.

Today, a group of 31,000 Christian kids gathered from all over the country heard that queer people are beautiful created children of god with a song whose refrain was “you will always be my child.” This is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. God’s love and grace is for everyone, as they are. And today, so many kids heard this from their CHURCH.

Aaaaaaand then this happened.
