ElasticHosts Expands US Cloud Presence with Miami and Dallas Data Centers

UK cloud server provider ElasticHosts has launched new data centers in Miami and Dallas, the company announced Thursday. ElasticHosts hopes the new points of presence will reduce latency for customers on the east coast of the US, while providing access to the Latin American Market.

Computing, TechWeekEurope and others are covering news from UK-based ElasticHosts, as the company makes some noise about charging customers based on the actual load they place on a cloud server rather than for the size of the server instance they specify. Charging for resources consumed; that's what cloud's about, isn't it?

Responding to my concern that billing for actual load would make it much harder to plan and budget, ElasticHosts CEO Richard Davies claimed in a tweet that

Elastichosts price matches AWS at 100% utilization 24/7. So cost can vary, but users only save. Typically they save a lot

So that should be fine then, right?
