Cape Cobra Naja nivea
A highly venomous species of cobra inhabiting savanna, bushveld, and desert in South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, and Botswana. It is a terrestrial snake, but readily climbs trees and bushes, and shows considerable agility in, for example, systematically robbing the nests of the sociable weaver. It feeds on a wide spectrum of prey, including other snakes, rodents, lizards, birds, and carrion.
