Just stumbled on this drama with Saige and I had no idea people were talking about her like this. It's funny cause when Saige first started on Smosh I thought it was Damien and Shayne that were rude to HER. There were so many episodes I would watch where she would be excited and putting in all this energy, and shayne especially would just be unresponsive, and when he was engaging with her he was very sarcastic. It really rubbed me the wrong way, to the point where I actually went to the comments to see if anyone else saw this. So to see people saying SAIGE was rude was a shock to me.
She is a one of the first new people hired onto this huge gaming channel with a huge fanbase, and that's intimidating as fuck for someone that young. She seemed so nervous In the beginning, but always professional! I felt bad for her. She's worked her butt off trying to bring life back into that channel and it's sad to see fans blame her for it not doing well. Yeah she's a little different, but to know that fans are saying she's not interesting or even rude a is very upsetting. And yes, it REEKS of misogyny.
See here's the thing-I've never picked up on any sort of hostility at all from Saige or from Shayne. Like at least from my perspective it's very obviously just playful banter. But I agree with you that people are perhaps a tad too harsh considering the pressure Saige is under, both as an influencer and as a new employee.
