Por eso hay que escoger muy bien a esa niña, la que es tu mejor amiga, la que se aleja y te vuelve a reencontrar.

First Impressions of Mexico City
It's no where near as hot as I thought it would be. Although by the end of February in Canada, one stops believing that being warm outside is even possible. It's actually something like a perfect temperature here. Apparently texting and talking while driving is not illegal. I'm actually a fan of that, in general, mostly when I'm driving though. The war on graffiti in Mexico City has a long way to go. There is immediately more of a middle class feel to life here than one occasionally sees in some destinations. Traffic cops hide behind street signs and I empathize. My Spanish needs some serious work.

While the media often portrays Mexico as the most dangerous place on earth, it is statistically quite safe. According to NationMaster.com which uses U.N.-based data, Mexico doesn't even make the list of the 36 nations with the highest murder rates.
After using and searching the hashtag #elDF on twitter, I came across this reassuring article about violence in Mexico City as compared to Washington DC. I’ve previously worked as a tour guide in Washington and have never had a moment of feeling worried or scared for my safety there.
