elias still doesn't know what actually happened between sloane and mirae on valentine's day — he heard there was a fight, but he's not even sure why or how that happened in the first place (or even who won). they're hanging out at his place and, for once, she's not there to patch him up after he's used his fists instead of his words to get his point across. a rarity. "hey, so..." he trails off, and he knows that they both know this conversation is going to be awkward. actually, getting into a fistfight sounds like a better use of his time than this. still, he continues, "so, what happened on valentine's day?" a pause. "y'know. with mirae."

location: a local restaurant.

they haven't really seen each other since valentine's day, and that was more than fine by him — it's not like he had much to say to her, it's not like she'd say much to him, either. maybe he's being unreasonable, but he can't help being hurt by it. it's also unreasonable and petty for him and mari to be faking being 'friends with benefits' or at least 'hook-ups', but fair's fair. right? when he sees mirae walking into the same restaurant he's having lunch at, he exhales slowly. as annoyed as he is with her, as hurt as he is by her, seeing her is a reminder that he still loves her. always will. they fight and fight, it's a whole push and pull between them, but they always end up with one another. still, he can't be here... he can't be around her. elias takes out his wallet from his back pocket and places a few bills down to cover his meal and extra for a tip. elias wants to say something mean, something petty, something to strike the match and cause a fight but he can't bring himself to do it. instead, he walks out. it's in that moment he realizes just how hurt by her he truly is.

“you… think you did a lot of damage?” his voice is steady, but there’s an underlying annoyance and a slight hint of anger at jaeha’s comment. elias looks from jaeha’s face, to jaeha’s shirt then to his pants and then to the dashboard of his car. “you think you did a lot of damage?” he repeats with a lot more bite to it. this is what happens when elias is nice — he treats jaeha to a burger, fries and milkshake and now all of that is all over what seems like every crevice inside his car. the dashboard, the seat, the floor — fuck, how the hell was there milkshake on the damned ceiling? “i didn’t brake that hard,” he shakes his head, “so how the hell did you manage to spill everything?”
