If you don't mind sharing, what series are you reading? (I could use a good book)
Of course! I love sharing this series. I hope it's your cup of tea though!
I've been reading Midnight's Daughter, Death's Mistress, and Fury's Kiss- book series by Karen Chance.
You can look at the summary for the series and read sample of the chapters HERE.
The series also includes 2 free novellas, and one about her father (that I haven't had the chance to read yet). The 2 novellas you can read to see if you’ll like the rest of the books. I’d try Zombie Bites, as Lovers’s Knot is spoiler heavy and you won’t get it unless you’ve read all 3 books.
I will say that the first 2 are interesting, but my favorite is the third one, Fury's Kiss.
Here’s the summary for the first book:
Dorina Basarab is a dhampir—half-human, half-vampire. Subject to uncontrollable rages, most dhampirs live very short, very violent lives. So far, Dory has managed to maintain her sanity by unleashing her anger on those demons and vampires who deserve killing.
Now Dory’s vampire father has come back into her life. Her uncle Dracula (yes, the Dracula) infamous even among vampires for his cruelty and murderous ways, has escaped his prison. And her father wants Dory to work with the gorgeous master vampire Louis-Cesare to put him back there.
Vampires and dhampirs are mortal enemies, and Dory prefers to work alone. But Dracula is the only thing on earth that truly scares her, and when Dory has to go up against him, she’ll take all the help she can get…
This is mostly an action based novel. But the reason I stick around this series is because of Dory's family and her love interest. It's very fascinating. I love her complicated relationship with her father and uncle. You think she hates them, but there are a few moments in the novel where you really wonder if she does hate them. A few character points it out.
