The Prince had been neck deep in scrolls when the knock came to the door. He was confused really as he knew he had told his handmaidens that he was not to be disturbed unless there was truly something amazing happening.

Eyes keen on the door, he slowly made his way down the ladder as he thought of what could possibly be on the other side. He didn’t hear any warning bells nor felt the quake of the ground due to an explosion. He hadn’t missed any birthdays or holidays.

Opening the door just a crack, he peaked his head out and couldn’t quite believe his eyes. “Eir?”

Eir had fidgeted as she waited for the door to open, fighting the urge to knock the door again. She managed to hold back, hearing the sound of someone approaching the door. A bright smile graced her lips as she saw Loki, well his head at least.

“Hello Loki,” she greeted, “I hope I am not tearing you away from anything important. I wanted to tell you that I’ve returned again, for the foreseeable future at least.”

She paused as her mouth caught up with her thoughts and her hands unclapsed from behind her back. The sight of only his head made her wonder if he was decent, but she had seen him in worse states before. Nevertheless, times had changed and politeness was key. Their friendship was different than before she left for Midgard all those years ago. They were different...

“Before you freak out, I can explain. I swear. The injuries are not even as bad as they look like, buuut... I admit I probably shouldn’t have challenged Thor, but I did. And I payed the price. Thankfully I have you to patch me up.”

I haven’t actually worked at anything other than a healer or alongside the Avengers.” BEST JOB EVER?: “Well, I mean, a healer? Kurt smiled and straightened up from where he was slightly bent to reach for something. He leaned into her sweet hold for a moment before he turned around. 

“Not that I didn’t appreciate that, aber what was that for?”

Eir made her way over to her friend after she closed the door. In the many years before, while Loki’s state would never have made her uncomfortable, it would have made her blush deeply and wonder what would come from her asking to see more. But in the past number of years she had changed her mind and now no longer seeked out her friend romantically.

She sat down on one of the chairs near the vanity and her fingers nervously twirled strands of hair. “Oh Loki…” she began but stopped after a moment before she got to her feet and moved closer to her friend.

“Something I never thought would happen has occurred…” She could see herself in the mirror now, see the bump that was not there yet but in fact was just a trick or the light. Her eyes welled up with tears as she looked at her friend via the mirror.

“I am with child.”

♔—- Loki stared at her friend for a solid minute in shock. Loki was no stranger to unexpected pregnancies. After Sleipnir and the triplets, it certainly became a fear of hers to repeat it. Therefore, she went to great extents to keep herself magically infertile to ensure that she never endured another unplanned pregnancy again. Her pregnancies had been the result of magic, however, not carelessness or failed contraceptives.

And she certainly never expected her friend to fall into the same trap.

“You’re pregnant?” Loki finally repeated, reaching over to place a hand on her friend’s thigh. “Darling, shh, it’s all right...” Her second hand lifted to Eir’s cheek so she could brush away the tears the spilled down her face. “Does the father know? Do you plan on keeping the child with him? Is he supportive? Do you--” She caught herself then, before she could continue her bombardment of questions. 

Hello one and all! I welcome you all to the new year, 2019 as my mun has kindly informed me. In this new year there will be a few differences, although nothing major currently.

As I am still limited as is with my current list of individuals with whom I can interact with, I will be trying to branch out further. While I have been saying this for a while now, I do plan to make an effort to get to know more and more people. I don't bite, promise.

Likewise, my time here as of late has been sparse due to my mun being busy and other matters calling me away. While I dislike being away for long, unfortunately it will be a short period of time before I am back more frequently.

As you Midgardians say, New Year, new me but ultimately not much will have changed. A number of matters have changed with my mun, however, which has caused her presence on here to aid me in my communications to be limited. Unfortunately she is unsure of when she will be more focused and back to how she was, but as the new year reaches closer and closer to the first day being over, she says she can already feel the happiness build further.

An end to a relationship would do that to someone I suppose. But perhaps in due time another one will start?

But I digress, my train of thought has went elsewhere. Please don't be afraid to contact myself or my mun to interact or get to know us better.

In truth, the god of mischief understood where she was coming from. Their relationship started with a simple injury Loki was too stubborn to go with to Frigga, knowing she would scold him for being out and about and getting in trouble. But it grew into so much more, more than he had anticipated and Loki couldn’t fathom why Eir would say something like that. “Eir... why... why would you say something like that? I thought we had something more than just a friendship between us.”

A groan escaped his lips as Loki fully blinked awake and rolled onto his side to look at Eir. “And yet you still stayed.” He commented, his tone underlined with sleepiness. “Don’t think I didn’t feel you snuggle up to me once you unceremoniously shoved my foot back where it belonged.” And even as he spoke, he moved to wrap his arms around her waist and pull her to him again. “I’m sorry.”
