Summary:
“A vacation is not the same as a day away from work.” There was some logic to that statement. A vacation did not have the same feel as a day away from work. There was a difference between dessert and stolen candy. “And anyway, with you around, there is never a free day.”
Written for the VashMeryl Week prompt: "Lazy Day".

Posting all my related AU OCs here: Eilwen, Kaden, Solanas, and Sylas (There’s a Hinesha and Aerron cameo in this lol)
They were originally characters I created for story many years ago. I fleshed them out when I wrote for nanowrimo. I managed to get just above 50k+ words but I only reached the first act of the story. I ended up designing them as OCs because I couldn’t help it haha. I kind of want to make a comic with the novel summary, but I also really want to make a villainess story too aah =A=...Â
Have some character info below ^^:
Eilwen
Eilwen is a knight under service of the Divine, who is currently Solanas’ mother. She spends most of her time protecting Solanas though, and they are good friends. Eilwen is blessed as one the Goddess Veritas's hands and so has a superhuman strength. She’s from Estren but moved to Althis after another knight named Ser Torak had picked her up from the ruins of her home. She met Sylas in a small border town called Cirrane which Althis had occupied after their war with Thavell. He was the only one who knew how to speak her language, and taught her how to read and write in the Althian language.
Kaden
Kaden was raised in Ravimor, a small town in Althis to the northwest. He was learning to be a doctor (not sure, like a medicine/herbalist - his sister was the bone stitcher lol). He is discovered to be related to the late King in the story and is taken to the city capital Basa where he literally had no connections or allies. He also finds out he has a bunch of step siblings, some more friendly than others. The parents who raised him were being held in custody up north because they were basically hiding him away and children of royal blood weren’t allowed out of the capital because of how the contract with the Goddess works. His sister Evy also ended up staying up north to learn from the mages.
Solanas
Solanas is the Divine’s daughter and she is well loved. She’s the one who sends her knights to get Kaden after the king dies. She would have left him alone since the nature of the court had been particularly hostile after the king got really sick, but she knew the crown prince didn’t hold a legitimate contract with the Goddess. It was a fabricated one between him and Solanas to prevent any further instability by having the factions side with Elias, the oldest of King Gidon’s children. Her mother doesn’t make as many public appearances, so Solanas tends to be the one who goes out in her place.Â
Sylas
Sylas is the second son of House Fulgurin in Icraton. His step mother is the one who question’s Kaden’s parents for their deception. Sylas is the child of Duke Fulgurin and a Lanth’nn (A type of shapeshifting dragon species) who called herself Amara. While his step mother loves him, her house did not. House Euanthe suffered heavily when the Lanth’nn had their army march through the mountains and they worry about lineage successions since they are an old noble house. Also while most people in Icraton are mages and interact with magic, they are cautious with magic creatures because of their unpredictable nature. Sylas goes with Kaden to Basa at the latter’s suggestion to help placate House Euanthe and re-establish connections with the capital. Sylas had the option to go leave with Amara but he didn’t want to let go of his human connections yet. Â
