There was a small part of her that was a little disappointed he was no longer annoyed at her barging in. It was a lot more fun when he would scold her for it. There was almost no point to it when all he would do was sigh. But it wasn’t the lack of annoyance that had her frowning, it was the way he replied to her statement. 

“Huh? I know I’m me I aint stupid” she scoffed, hands on her hips, confused and thrown off. What a weird thing to say.

“Hey Keith!” Hanji hummed, walking into his room, pausing as she saw him rolling his shoulder. Slowly she shut the door behind her, putting down her report on his desk, “Here, let me help”. There was no waiting for permission before she walked around behind him on the chair, her hands on his shoulders, starting a massage to them. 

The fact that he was stood there, that she was one of the few he entrusted this task with, that the reason he was there was to find a few missing soldiers. There was no way she could ever say no. Keith was a fair Commander. But it took everything personally. Two people unaccounted for, last seen outside the walls. Most people would mark them down as dead or missing. The chances of finding them were slim, and to send a group out looking for them, the group might not return.

"I suppose that depends on what happens with the music" Hanji spoke, laughing softly as she wrapped her hands around the tea cup, "Thank you for the tea, I think we should talk though" Hanji added as she looked around his office. It was a simple, clean, lacking a certain touch but it was very much Keith.

He was speechless? She groaned and threw her arms in the air from frustration. She had just been promoted to squad leader, one of her first meetings with Zackley and she was proposing something so left field no one saw it coming except Keith and the other scouts there. Of course Zackley wasn’t going to wave a hand and agree to research. Bringing titans inside the wall was just asking for trouble. How could he justify that to the scared citizens. 

She had no footing to fight back. She tried but he stopped her midsentence. Cut her off. In front of everyone. As a new in squad leader she couldn’t press the matter so she turned to her Commander for help. But he wasn’t even looking at her. It was embarrassing. 

“Keith,” Hanji spoke, walking over to him as he watched the newest group practice their hand to hand combat. Hanji never used to see the point of this when they were there to fight titans. But it was a whole new game now, the hand to hand was almost just as important as the aerial work. “Do you have a minute, I need to ask you something” she asked, not wanting to take him away if he was busy.
