Poor Lace has been acting as a child her whole life; she probably doesn’t even know what parts of her are her and what parts were trained in. Does she even like killing, or was that an adaptation she made mentally to survive her years of isolation and serving? She doesn’t even know how to process any of her emotions in a mature way because she hasn’t been allowed to age or grow mentally and face consequences (unlike Hornet). Anyway she should yell at Hornet. Imagine for your centuries of existence you’ve never made a single change, always being a perfect little puppet; then, when you get to kill the facade entirely and bring down the cursed kingdom that trapped you in its cycle some rando decides “nah man im gonna undo your first impactful choice for a hopeless place”. And then Hornet points out that she wouldn’t even be alive if Lace hadn’t freed her both times, that it was her that ensured Pharloom would be saved.
And then while Lace learns that she can feel things Hornet also realizes she doesn’t have to be fighting zombies always and can think about her trauma and then they kiss
