i’ve decided he’s like. seventeen years old or some shit. in the sense that he’s only been operating for seventeen years. he definitely does not have the mind of a seventeen year old but has only experienced the world for that amount of time. Does he know everything ever? Yes. Is he still bad at social cues due to the fact that you can’t put facts into practice and expect it to work every time? also yes!

He is the closest to Hudson and was kind of hoping that he’d make it at the end. Sure. Hudson’s rather boisterous and full of dumbass energy. But he’s also the tech guy. I figured there’d be some kind of bond there but also along with Hudson prodding at Bishop and Bishop not being miffed at all.

I think he would like trees a lot, regardless of whether or not he’s actually been to Earth. He’d probably find solace in them.

He doesn’t laugh often. He finds stuff funny, but usually only cracks a smile at that or states his amusement. It’s more of a reflexive thing (like that one part where he licked his blood from a cut) and when he did laugh for the first time the marines lost their shit

does not understand formalities. you will probably get the phrases “egregiously debilitated” and “we got bigger fish to fry” within the same twenty seconds.

he wears the flight suit even outside operations because it’s the only thing that feels comfortable for him. Hudson thinks Bishop has an entire closet of that same flight suit seven times (he doesn’t)

also we love the idea of agender bishop we will be clinging to this concept like our life depends on it

some of the troops have said ridiculous and outright diabolical things to Bishop when half-awake or intoxicated. He’s just like “ok”.

whenever he’s playing chess with members of the marines (or Ripley or Newt in the future) he refers to the bishop piece as himself. “Okay, I’m going to move myself to d6…” It’s hilarious.

extended hug headcanon: when first hugging people he would ask a lot of questions—how much pressure, around the waist or the shoulders, what angle—but eventually he realized people who want to be hugged kinda just sink into him regardless. not because he provides the best embrace of comfort but because it’s Bishop doing it.
