So in explanation of the âgentrified dog fighting ringâ post!! Some has to do with training, as in socializing the dogs with other dogs, and basic commands (sit, stay, heel etc) and some has to do with these dogs being rescued with no insight into bite history or past aggressive behavior (some dogs ARE aggressive, and some have bite histories and shouldnât be adopted to anyone other than trained professionals)
Dogs without training arenât necessarily dangerous, but every âpibble mommyâ who adopted during quarantine definitely didnât socialize their dogs with strangers & definitely didnât check for aggression or bite history with the rescue.
People are very âadopt donât shopâ without insight into the reprehensible shit rescues OFTEN do just to get dogs into peopleâs hands. Dogs on their own if raised kindly will typically be very sweet themselves, itâs more of an issue with food aggression, and territory with strangers and dogs they donât know. Especially if the dog hasnât been around smaller dogs and theyâre, letâs say, a chow mix.
Ohhhh I see that makes a lot more sense, thank you!! Yeah I've never really been around dogs a lot growing up so I was super confused haha
