🍳🌱 WAIT. it's an actual EGGPLANT
My eggling sprouted yesterday (◕ᴗ◕✿)
I’ve finally got a curtain for this side window here, so I can keep the blinds open always and have my little plantitas on the windowsill! Lavender is doing great, those first shoots braving the less than favorable conditions of my bedside table, and I can count four more shoots now that I’ve moved them! My strawberries are doing alright, I’d say. The sprouts have endured, but haven’t gotten past that initial growth. I’m hoping moving them to more direct sunlight will help. They also have this odd white fuzz on top of the soil? And I’m not sure what that’s about. But they seem to be growing, regardless.
Updates!!! I have one Very intrepid lavender sprout that is just shooting up. It still has a seed hat on, and I love it. I think there’s another sprout shooting up too, and I’m very pleased. And my strawberries are sprouting!!! There’s a little smattering of little green sprouts, and I’m very proud of them. I knew these guys would do it!!! We’ve had lots of sun lately and seeing these guys growing is honestly so much fun.

My first little plant friends! First picture are my darling mini saguaro cacti, the only ones that have sprouted yet! I love their little glass house. Their names are Sav, Anne, and Ah, after my dear cactus-obsessed coworker. They have sprouted, but haven’t grown much since. I have faith in them!!! The left picture is my Lavender Eggling. I just got this guy, opened and watered him yesterday, but I LOVE the packaging!!! It’s a lil egg! I have hopes for this guy too, but nothing as of yet. The right picture are my poor, misguided Violet friends. They have not sprouted, and I’ve had them as long as my cacti. I don’t really have hopes for these buddies, but I keep watering them! Who knows!!! The last picture are gonna be strawberries, hopefully!!! I planted these guys the other day, and they haven’t sprouted yet. I have hopes for these guys!!! I am keeping all of my friends on my bedside table. I have it right up against a window, with the blinds slightly open, so they get /some/ direct sun and a lot of indirect sunlight. These are my friends!!!
I had a student and she has a nickname. Her nickname is 'eggling'. I find it weird when she wants to be called that so I looked up her real name. When I saw it I just thought 'what the fucking shit'.
I asked her dad one day to write her name but he said he can't and I understand him (I can't spell in either). So I just asked him how to pronounce it and he said he can't. He told me to just call his daughter eggling.
