Lapidot - Any Moment Part Eight
“Ga Ma!” The gemlings hollared as Yellow Diamond appeared on the Warp Pad. The Homeworld leader grinned brightly at the little ones.
“Oh hello my future warriors!” She cooed to them, grinning at the disapproval on Peridot’s face. “Oh, Tyke, you’re definitely going to be big and powerful like your sire!”
“Peridot is her sire, Yellow Diamond,” Amethyst said.
“No, no,” Yellow Diamond chuckled. “Jasper is. Tyke is quite obviously a Jasper, not a Peridot!”
“After Jasper threatened to shatter their geodes before they were laid, I became their sire,” Peridot growled at her former superior.
“You… Adopted them?” The Diamond said. The little striped gemlings nodded vigorously.
Peridot sighed and thoroughly explained exactly what that meant. Jasper did not sire a single one of the gemlings. End of story.
“If you say,” Yellow Diamond shrugged, bouncing Tyke on her leg.
“Does Jasper even care?” Amethyst wondered out loud.
“She wishes to meet her strongest daughter and train her,” Yellow Diamond said. “But Peridot and Lapis Lazuli refuse to let her near.”
“Damn right,” The technician mumbled.
“Psh!” Amethyst grinned. “I think Lapis would poof her if she ever got in like, a mile of them.“
“Correction, she’d poof her of Jasper came within a galaxy of them,” Peridot said.
“When we visit?” Lazulite asked Yellow Diamond.
“Once I’m all done fixing Homeworld,” She patted her head.
“Whichll be another five thousand years,” Lapis appeared, snatching up her precious daughter.
"I have guidance from one of your greatest and most visionary warriors!” Yellow Diamond defended herself.
“Steven isn’t exactly visionary, he watches as how about living food crying,” Peridot deadpanned.
“Well I must be going!” Yellow Diamond huffed. “Things to do, worlds to reform.”
“Gems to shatter, experiments to perform,” Peridot muttered.
Yellow Diamond huffed and stood. She bid the gemlings a good day and stepped on the warp pad. Lapis waved to her and scooped up as many of her children as she could, heading outside. Peridot returned to watching cat videos on the internet.
“So Pearl’s gonna have my geodes,” Amethyst said out of the blue.
“What?!” Steven and Garnet appeared in the doorway.
“Amethyst,” Pearl groaned. Amethyst shrugged and kissed her girlfriend as Peridot headed outside to avoid the yelling that was sure to come, patting Steven on the head as she passed him.
