Got home and there's a message from the computer repair place that it's definitely a problem with Windows, and I need to reinstall it, which means I can pay another $70 to have them save my data, but I'll have to also reinstall all my programs. The computer is about 7 years old and has been acting increasingly troublesome over the past couple of years, so I guess instead I'll just have to buy a new one and transfer the actual hard drive over to it, since that hard drive is only about 16 months old. Yay another $1000 down the shithole. Well at least I'll have a new computer to enjoy for the few months I have left.
