i talked about it a little bit in this post but the way these two regulate their emotions isn't very healthy at all - with roxy tending to ignore her more difficult emotions and james lashing out... that + high stress situation + fighting with friends + trying to reconsile with old ones = DISTASTER so they were bound to explode some time :'(

𝗩𝗜𝗞𝗧𝗢𝗥'𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗦 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗔𝗦 𝗦𝗢𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗦 𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗥. He hadn't expected Jayce, of all people, to fill it out. Half of it had been him being silly, or patterning it off of Jayce in some way.

He'd honestly put the "science is his partner first" as a joke - of course his partner would be first, come first. Right before Jayce can fully leave the room, Viktor grabs his crutch and makes record speed, crossing the distance between them, one lithe hand curling around the other inventor's wrist. He summons a strength from somewhere deep within, and moves to block Jayce at the door with his body as he holds him in place.

"Jayce - wait."

Pale cheeks flush, his free hand clutching the bingo card and notes. Viktor is aware of a slight buzzing where his skin meets Jayce's, and though he should let go, he doesn't.

His thumb even traces along the outside of Jayce's palm.

"I - Jayce."

Viktor is anxious, prone to rambling. He is looking at everywhere besides his partner's eyes.

"Of course you'd come first. If we ever went that route," he whispers, "you would be first. Before everything. Science, ambition. Everything." My life, he almost wants to say, but that is a dangerous admission, one that he's sure Jayce won't approve of.

"A full bingo."

Something sentimental and curious trickles into his tone, "Why did you fill it out, hm? Are you teasing me, or serious?"
