Orangutan 🦧 Rescue - Mom and Baby By International Animal Rescue. This is a #repost from @educate101 via @PhotoAroundApp Please read this post and watch this video.. #educateyourself101 #Repost @international_animal_rescue ・・・ Mama Nam and her baby were close to starving to death when our rescue team reached them. The mother and baby orangutan had been left stranded with no food or shelter as a result of forest fires, they wouldn't have survived another week if our team had not rescued them. This mother orangutan was painfully skinny, her rib cage and bones were showing and she was incredibly weak, unable even to produce the milk needed to feed her baby. Both were rushed to our centre for urgent treatment. Our team worked around the clock to provide Mama Nam and her baby the care they urgently needed to recover. Thankfully, after two months in our care, both mum and baby were pronounced fit to be released back into the wild, where they belong. Although heartbreaking, this story is all too familiar. As more and more rainforest is destroyed, orangutans are left with nowhere to go. Please help us restore and protect precious orangutan habitat by taking part in The Rainforest Run. LINK IN BIO @international_animal_rescue Every £5/$6 you raise in sponsorship will cover the costs of planting and protecting one tree in an area of destroyed rainforest. Run 5k wherever you are in the world on Sunday 29th September and help build a better future for orangutans like Mama Nam. Thank you.
