if in endgame, when Steve gets knocked down by Thanos and it he’s covered in dirt and blood and his shield is practically nothing it’s so broken and his arm is probably broken and it looks like all hope is completely and utterly lost? well it would’ve been so so cool if they had Steve like, see his mother, like a mirage standing over him going “you always stand up” just like this comic. and that, seeing his mom, having her remind him of this, combined with knowing this fight’s purpose, knowing what the outcome will do, who it will help, who it will save, that is what gives Steve that final push to grit his teeth and stand back up and keep fighting because, steven, you always stand up.
