Following on from the post by @edgeofthedales that I just reblogged, I decided to make a list of what I had written, too, because Tumblr does not make it particularly easy to organise things. 

My stories are based in an alternate universe in which the Fifth Doctor makes a detour to Skeldale House in the 1930s. The completed stories and the completed chapters of “Marble Halls” are available on AO3.

The Scenic Route: A Diversion 

Where it all started. The Fifth Doctor’s cosmic do-gooding causes him to be infected with an illness and the TARDIS takes him to the one place where he will be well cared for - Skeldale House in 1930s Yorkshire, where his doppelganger is studying to be a vet. With the Doctor out of action, someone must take his place and fly on an important mission...

Tea in Bed: An Interlude 

Focuses on Siegfried’s reaction to having his brother’s time-travelling double at Skeldale.

Lost the Plot: A Parenthesis

Bowled Over: A Follow-on

The Fifth Doctor and the county of Yorkshire both love cricket, so it was pretty much inevitable that he had to play it at some point...

Marble Halls: an attempt at a serious(ish) Doctor Who-type adventure within the premise of my AU. Involves stars, drunkenness and decorative vegetables.

A Moment’s Fancy by @edgeofthedales

This does not belong here at all because it is not related to ACGaS, but it was inspired by a discussion with @edgeofthedales earlier today, and I don’t have anywhere else to put it for now, so here it is.

Look. Look in the mirror. This is what you will wear.

Beautiful. Like a work of art.

But look how slender. You will always compare yourself and fear that you are too slight, not enough.

You will not be able to impose yourself by force of your physical presence.

And look at the face. The deep blue eyes, the sweet smile. A face that speaks of gentleness, not toughness. A face of which no-one could reasonably be afraid.

You will have to persuade, reason, cajole, and you will often fail.

And sometimes you will have to shout.

But when you shout, your voice will sound too high, too young.

They will not always listen to you.

You will have to show them. Demonstrate. Or possibly throw yourself into the breach when they fail to take you seriously.

Look at those long, clever hands. They could extract music from a piano or a guitar; they could create things, mend things. Broken instruments, broken hearts. They could give a reassuring touch on the shoulder. Perhaps push a lock of hair out of a face, very gently, or brush away a tear.

Or give loving caresses.

But you have the sort of heart that wants to embrace the world and carry its weight on your shoulders alone.

You will most probably not have much time left over for caresses.

And now it is time for you to step out onto the stage.
