recently been thinking about Ed and Lan Fan, whose canon relationship is incredibly awesome but sadly underappreciated by fandom, so tonight I sat myself down and decided to draw some Quality Art™ for them! 

1. How do they fall asleep? Wake up? Any daily rituals?

Lan Fan falls asleep first and wakes up first; Ed is more of a night owl. They do the big spoon little spoon thing when they sleep (Ed is the big spoon it’s an important source of his person pride) but Lan Fan has normally slipped out of bed by the time Lan Fan wakes up (she gets up early to train). Likewise, Ed slips into bed when Lan Fan is already sleeping because he stays up late doing research. Despite their different schedules, they always make a point to eat breakfast together.

5. Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?

Lan Fan makes a point to call Ed shorty or some variation of it when he’s annoying her.

8. What do the like best about their partner?

Lan Fan likes how devoted and determined Ed is. She loved to see him when he’s talking about something he’s passionate about. Ed likes how fiercly protective Lan Fan is.

11. Do they celebrate holidays? Anniversaries?

Not really. They might go out occasionally for their anniversary, but neither of them see the point. Sometimes Winry or Al or Ling or someone will rope them into going to some holiday party or something, but it really isn’t their thing.

12. Is there a wedding? What was the proposal like? Any kind of honeymoon?

Just a quiet civil ceremony in Xing. Then they went back to Resembool in Amestris for a few days and then started traveling around the west for a few weeks. Ed did the same shitty alchemy proposal he does to Winry in canon; he just doesn’t get why science isn’t romantic.

13. What do they do for fun? Do they have a favorite activity or do they like to switch things up?
