inktober day 12 I redesigned my character Edanna. She's been needing a tweak and I'm really happy with it too! She's a banshee and also the mother of my character Blackfire. Her second mouth in a way had a mind of its own at times especially when she's hungry.
Right now Edanna is in a state of some deep doubt about herself and her family: last night she had an encounter with the spirit of a Highborne ancestor of hers, one she sees as an extreme underachiever. In short, he was the royal vintner of Azshara, made a batch of his best, then took poison because a book he misunderstood told him he's never going to roll the proverbial 20 again, so he should go out while he's still on top.
What a cosmic loser, Edanna thinks.
But that made her think about the maternal side of her family, since wow runs heavily on the "sins of the fathers" narrative, will they also turn out like this? Reach the top, then rest on laurels? Now Edanna feels like a stranger because she's always able to apply herself to something new, never letting one magnum opus define her. That would make her closer to her father's lineage, people who worked hard to reach the middle class and worked hard to stay there. That makes her doubt her bonds, is she really one of them or just a stray, taken in and acknowledged out of whim and pity? It's especially gnawing because unlike most other elven noble houses, House Tulani contains on the large the nicest people you'd ever meet.
I do wonder how this will work out - will have to wait until the Draenor campaign ends, though.
