Being away from the water for a long stretch of time felt strange to Taner, he was so used to working in it for many hours a day, and furthermore he used to live on a rig out in the ocean. This whole being landlocked business had been messing with his head a bit, so lately Taner had been going to the beach. Sometimes for just an hour and other times nearly half the day. It all depended on if he was surfing or not. "You're not planning on going in the water, are you?" He asked Elena, they'd just come upon each other in the parking lot. "There was a shark sighting so it's probably best to stay out," Taner informed as he lifted his cooler into the back of his truck. "It's probably already gone from the area but better to be safe rather than sorry." A beat later, his hand rested atop the side of the bed of the truck, "how's your mom doing?" With how good her parents had been to him when he'd been a kid and teenager in this town, Taner thought of them often. Especially now that he'd finally moved back to his hometown. It said a lot that he'd asked given that he had no idea what had happened to his own family since he'd left at 18. "I left a message for her the other day but I haven't heard back." And Taner knew the reasons were very complicated.
